Small businesses are the heart and soul of our local communities and now, more than ever, they need our support. That’s why on June 11, our Managing Partner and Attorney, Matthew Villmer, stepped up to participate in the 10,000 Small Business Voices initiative.
This program, spearheaded by Goldman Sachs, lobbied members of the U.S. Congress, including North Carolina Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis, and Representatives Alma Adams and George Holding, to expand the Paycheck Protection Program.
The expansion would allow for additional funding for struggling business and provide temporary protection for small businesses from litigation related to COVID-19. Many recommendations presented by the group have been adopted by recent legislation.
For over 37 years, the law firm of Weaver Bennett & Bland has been a proactive advocate for small businesses in the greater Charlotte area. By participating in this lobbying effort, we helped bring the concerns of our community’s Main Street directly to Congress. It’s our way of giving back to the business owners in this community that have placed their trust in us for years.
During these challenging times we are here to help you protect your family and business!
