Dave Bland is an aggressive seasoned trial lawyer at Weaver, Bennett & Bland, P.A. He has tried countless jury trials and bench trials throughout his forty-year career. Dave has the distinct honor of holding at various times four record verdicts in The State of North Carolina. Dave also successfully argued numerous appellate cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

In 1984, Dave joined the law firm of Weaver, Bennett & Bland, P.A. as a founding partner. Over the last 40 years, Dave has handled complex matters in many areas of civil litigation. Dave’s founded Sustainable Energy Community Development Company (S.E.C.D.C.) in 2010. S.E.C.D.C. built huge solar farms primarily in Eastern North Carolina. S.E.C.D.C. provided leadership in promoting sustainable energy policy at both the state and national level. The creation of S.E.C.D.C. is just one example of Dave’s love for giving back to his community. Dave has served five terms on the Board of Commissioners for the Town of Matthews, served as Matthews’ representative to the Metropolitan Planning Organization and he has served as a board member and officer for numerous other Matthews’ area organizations.
