At Weaver, Bennett, and Bland, we’re proud to support the Matthews community – a community that has been there to support us for so many years. In fact, one of our core values as a firm is to connect with our community, and one way we do that is by giving back whenever we can.
Supporting Small Business
We recently advocated for the small businesses of Matthews through the 10,000 Small Business Voices initiative and remained a trusted legal advisor for our clients during a global pandemic when the North Carolina Courts and so many other businesses had to shut down. Matthew Villmer from our firm worked to lobby our North Carolina Senators and Representatives to expand the PPP program in support of local business owners.
The Kiwanis Club of Matthews with Attorney Eran Weaver

The Kiwanis Club of Matthews is part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. Our very own Eran Weaver was named president of the local Kiwanis Club on September 29, 2020!
Not only is he club president, but Eran is also club liaison to Socrates Academy for their Terrific Kids program. So far this year, they have recognized approximately 40 kids in grades Kindergarten through 5th for becoming the best versions of themselves and holding themselves accountable for their actions. Throughout the Terrific Kid program’s history in our community, the Kiwanis Club and its members have recognized more than 27,000 kids in its partner local elementary schools.
Between October 26 and November 2, 2020, the Kiwanis Club also held the annual School Clothes for Kids drive, where they were able to provide 60 school-aged children with $75 each for clothes and shoes at the Super Walmart in southeast Charlotte. Participants were even able to help recipients shop for school clothes.
December’s fundraising event for the Kiwanis Club was the Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale, which raised funds to further help the children of our community!

As members of the Matthews community for more than 37 years, we believe in each and every cause that we champion, and we feel it is our duty to support them as much as we can. Especially during the holiday season, we do our part to ensure that our community is taken care of and that every Matthews resident knows that the attorneys at Weaver, Bennett & Bland care!
